How long have you been in service to your parish? Some may just be starting and some may have served one year, five years, or even 10 years as parish worker. But can you imagine yourself serving your parish for 30 years and probably more?
Indeed, 30 years is no mean feat. This was how long the pioneer parish workers of Sto. Nino have been doing for the past 30 years.
In recognition of their loyalty and service to the church, the Sto. Nino de Taguig Parish through their Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Daniel Estacio bestowed the “30 Years in Service Award” to some 46 longest serving parish workers composed of a priest, past pastoral council officers, ministry members, and lay workers for their loyalty and service to the parish.
Fr. Estacio said the award was aimed at recognizing the pioneer men and women in the parish who have selflessly dedicated their best years in life serving the Lord since the time the parish was established in 1987 up to this day.
Among the 30 years in service awardees were: Rosita Apolinar, Maxima Balonzo, Gertrudes Bautista, Natalio Bautista, Francisca Blen, Rosita Borje, Cirila Brigente, Belen Busi, Lilia Cajipe, Margarita Castor, Jonathan Castroverde, Raymunda Chai, Millet Dela Cruz, Ryan Desquitado, Sergia DivinaGracia, Caridad Dominguano, Erlinda Duran, Thelma Ebreo, Estanisla Evangelista, Estela Fabra, Manuel Fronte, Delia Gutierrez, Blanquita Hernandez and Benjamin Coleta.
Also included were Rev. Fr. Rene Lagaya, Violeta Lantoria, Amelia Lazarte, Leticia Lino, Leoncia Managay, Maxima Medina, Amparo Nicario, Natalia Oliva, Ma. Elena Pasia, Regina Pedarse, Jesmil Pereda, Primitiva Rambacud, Rogelio Rigorosa, Teresita Sabado, Joselito Sales, Leticia Sanchez, Antonia Sarmiento, Thelma Servita, Olivia Superio, Conchita Ungos, Leonida Tagle, and Maria Isabel Yulatic.
“Tayo po ay nagpapasalamat sa ating mga 30 Years in Service Awardees, sa kanilang taus-pusong paglilingkod sa ating parokya mula noon hanggang ngayon. Tatlumpung taon. Hindi matatawaran ang kanilang mga sakripisyo at dedikasyon sa pagtulong sa ating parokya sa nakalipas na 30 taon. Kaya’t atin silang pinararangalan ngayong gabi,” said Estacio.
Earlier during the thanksgiving mass, Fr. Estacio said it is important to look back and extend gratitude to the early parish officers and workers because without their hard work, the parish would not have been what it is now and thanked some of the invited past parish officers and members who attended the mass.
“May kasabihan, “Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan,” he stressed.
Special recognition were also given to former parish priest Fr. Mandy Litana and guest priest Fr. Cris Magbitang who both graced the awards night, while first parish priest Fr. Charlie Jundis, attended the concelebrated thanksgiving mass. The elderly mother of deceased former parish priest Fr. Buddy Yun arrived to receive a posthumous award on his behalf.
Also cited were members of the Comite de Festejos who labored in the preparation of different activities to celebrate the parish foundation.
The awarding was held during the Gabi ng Parangal as part of the Parish 30th Foundation Anniversary celebration last February 11, 2017 with the theme, “Tatlumpung-Taon ng Pasasalamat kay Mahal na Sto. Nino ng Pamilyang Kristiyano.”
