PASIG CITY. Yesterday, September 8, 2015, Mama Mary’s Birthday. The exhibit of the memorabilia of the “Mercy and Compassion” visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines was opened in the Pasig Diocesan Museum by His Excellency Most Reverend Mylo Hubert C. Vergara with Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho Bernardo and Vicky Caruncho.
Rev. Fr. Joselito I. Jopson said a short prayer followed by the welcome remarks of Fr. Roy Rosales who discussed the very important task performed by Bishop Mylo during the Papal visit as the head of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Social Communications by which he became a recipient of many memorabilia from the very Marian Pope Lolo Kiko. “Iba na ang malapit sa kusina,” he adds.
Bihop Mylo Vergara on his message shared his excitement during the Papal visit. He said that because he was in possession of many relics of the visit, he thought of exhibiting them in a museum for the benefit of the children. Included in the exhibit is the original copy of the homily he delivered during the funeral Mass of Kristel Padasas, the woman killed at Tacloban Mass, which was signed by Pope Francis. The exhibit of the memorabilia of Pope Francis is his gift for the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“The Diocese of Pasig will be the first to have an exhibit about the Memorabilia of the ‘Mercy & Compassion’ visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines,” Bishop Mylo gladly exclaimed.
“Mary is the center of the communion of Saints,” quoted Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho.
