“A beautiful and noble altar for a great and loving God”:

The long wait is over. After more than a year of preparations, the solemn dedication of Sto. Nino de Taguig Parish was finally held last Saturday, April 1, 2017. It was presided over by Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, D. D. Bishop of Pasig with the assistance of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Daniel Estacio and its first parish priest, Rev. Fr. Clarito Jundis.
The dedication coincided with the parish 30th anniversary and was attended by more than 2,000 parishioners and invited guests including priests from different dioceses, local government officials, benefactors and friends, parish officers and servants who wore Filipiniana-inspired dresses and barongs, and parishioners in formal attire.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration cum dedication rite lasted two hours with psalms and songs and accompaniment courtesy of a grand orchestra led by Maestro Ferdinand Bautista of the Manila Cathedral Basilica-Liturgical Institute of Music. The group was one of those who served during the visit of Pope Francis in the Philippines.
Bishop Vergara said the dedication is a big celebration and a cause of jubilation because it is being held during the Church’s declaration of 2017 as the Year of the Parish with the theme, “The Parish as communion of communities.”
Parish as communion of communities
Vergara emphasized why people should go to church and why it promotes the communion of communities.
Vergara explained that Jesus Christ is in the mass which is composed of the liturgy of the Word and the liturgy of the Eucharist.
Tayo ang Simbahan dahil kay Hesus,” said the bishop.
